Palmer Hefferan is a Tony Award® nominated sound designer and composer for theater, opera and podcasts. She has designed over 100 productions on stages in New York and across the country. She received a 2019 Obie Award® for Sustained Excellence in Sound Design from the American Theatre Wing. In 2022, she was an honorary chair of the American Theatre Wing Gala, which celebrated women theater practitioners. ​Recent productions include the Broadway premiere of JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN (Tony Award® nomination) starring Sadie Sink and directed by Danya Taymor, the Broadway premiere of LIBERATION by Bess Wohl and directed by Whitney White, and the World Premiere musical adaption of PURPLE RAIN with music by Prince.  

 

Highlights from the last decade include numerous collaborations with Lileana Blain-Cruz, Sarah Benson, and Saheem Ali, TEETH: A Coming-of-Rage Musical Comedy by Michael R. Jackson & Anna K. Jacobs, the Tony Award® nominated production of Thornton Wilder's  THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH at Lincoln Center Theater, the Broadway production of Alex Edelman: JUST FOR US,  now available on HBO Max, and the Tony Award® nominated production of JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN at the Booth Theatre.
